A-maizing!!!

I've been really bad about going to any sort of church activities since I've moved out here. Back in Denver I was at FHE just about every week and I usually went to the other activities as well. I don't really know why I haven't gone to anything out here, I think it's because I knew the first ward I was in I wouldn't be in for very long so I made no real effort to get to know people and also I've been a lot more busy out here than I was back there. However, last night I decided to go to FHE with my new ward. I'm not going to lie...the only reason I went was so that I could say that I did what we were going to do. We went to Thanksgiving Point where they have a bunch of "autumn activities" such as a hayride, pumpkin patches, a barrel ride, and of course, a corn maze. This is not just any corn maze though, this is the David Archuleta corn maze. That's right, a corn maze cut out in the shape of American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta. I guess since he's from Utah the creator of this maze decided that this was a really good idea, I agree. I've never been in a corn maze before partly because I get so frustrated with mazes and also because I hate being trapped and not being able to get out when I want out. However, I found that they aren't bad at all. Maybe it's because we made it out pretty fast but still, I would do it again. My very favorite thing about this corn maze (and I mean besides the fact that it was cut out like David Archuleta's face) was that they played David Archuleta music! He only has one song out so they played that one a couple of times but they also played some song he sang on American Idol. Boy am I glad that I went to FHE.

So I've told some of you about my problem...the one where I'm addicted to Beverly Hills 90210. And no, I'm not talking about the new one on the CW, I'm talking about the one that started in the early 90's about Brandon and Brenda Walsh who move from quiet Minnesota to worldly Beverly Hills and spend the remainder of their high school career at West Beverly High with kids whose families have a ton of money but also a ton of problems. You know the one I'm talking about? This whole problem of mine started about a month ago when, for some unknown reason, I was on CBS.com and discovered that full episodes of seasons 1-4 of the original Beverly Hills 90210 are available to watch, for free, online. I decided that since I quite enjoyed this show when I was in 6th grade and I would watch it on occasion during its last couple of seasons (I know, probably not an appropriate show for a 12 year-old) and even when I would watch reruns about a year and a half ago on SOAP Net everyday after work, I would probably enjoy it now. Only now I would have the opportunity to watch from the very beginning and learn the histories of all the different characters. Hardly a day goes by where I don't watch at least one episode. Now, I will be the first to admit that this show is completely cheesy 97% of the time. Just about every episode (in season 1 at least) ends with Brandon and Brenda basically summing up the entire episode with a conversation usually held in Brenda's room. Brandon usually walks in, asks Brenda how she's doing (she's a little over-dramatic and always seems to be having a bad day) and offers her words of comfort. Brenda in turn admits that she was wrong and always counteracts what she said with some sort of "but", placing the blame in someone else's lap. It's quite ridiculous and at times frustrating but I love it all the same. I'm currently about halfway through season two and already starting to think about what I'm going to do after I finish season four (the show ran for 10 seasons but only seasons 1-4 are on the website). I'm either going to have to hope CBS posts the remaining seasons before then, buy the remaining seasons and watch them, check them out from the library, or hope that I am over this sad, sad addiction I've fallen victim to in the last couple of weeks when it comes time to move on to season 5.

So I Gave In...

Ok...so I caved in and got a blog. I didn't think I ever wanted one of these for two main reasons 1. because I know I'm going to be horrible about maintaining it and 2. well, I just don't have much to blog about. I do think that the idea of blogs are great though. I get to blog stalk people and know all about what's going on in the lives of those I'm not around on a regular basis and now I'm giving people the opportunity to do the same...except the people I blog stalk have interesting lives, I do not. So here we go...
